I went up Right Hand Fork last night and made this same photo, but when I got back, there were some tree branches in the frame that were distracting, so I went back tonight and remade the photograph after eliminating the branches. It was a pretty serene little spot.

My official blog

In efforts to conserve what little money I have in these hard economic times (if you listen to Buzz Out Loud, you know what to do), I’ve decided to cancel my web hosting, which means my old web site (which, lets face it, looks as though a kindergartener had coded) is down, as well as my blog I had hosted there. I’m in the process of getting my domain associated with my MobileMe account, so www.andydduncan.com will still work, but www.andydduncan.com/blog will not. I’ve concluded that the $99 per year for Mobile Me (which gives me a hosted website, push email, syncing with all my iCal events, and Contacts, and, 20 gb of off site storage, which is enough for me) will be much more economical than the $240 per year I was paying for my web hosting. The templates generated in Aperture for my galleries for the new website will look better than the embarrassment I was trying to pass off as a website. Though tumblr is much more basic than Wordpress, I think it will be a better home and platform. I can post a variety of media here very simply. It felt like a bit of a chore to post to other blogging platforms (I’ve used several: Blogger, Wordpress, Typepad, and a little dabbling in Drupal).

So, welcome to my new home on the internet. Well, one of them, among Twitter and Facebook.
